I read Allegiant for my independent reading book this quarter. It is the final book of the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. This boom is about Tris, Tobias (a couple) and their friends who lived in a government lie.The thing is that after they found out that their city`s life was all an experiment to correct damaged genes , they leave their "city" and try to give the government a chance to correct their mistake. They found out that genetically damaged people are not as equally viewed as genetically pure people (divergent) and start trying to change that. The protagonists are Tris and Tobias and the antagonists are the government as a whole but individually David (their leader). The setting is a post-war America, which are only ruins and forest. The only "preserved" building is an airport where all the government is installed and where they control all the experiments.

I like this story a lot because the author wasn´t afraid of killing very important characters in a battle or unexpectedly so the reader is never going to expect what happens next. I also love Tris and Tobias`relationship so much because they have gone through a lot and are still together no matter what. Her writing is amazing because she writes in a way that you feel identified with what she is writing even if it is good or bad, sad or happy. You also have the opportunity to know other characters who you fall in love with and cry if something happens to them because you know them and their personalities just as you know your friends`personalities. I recommend this book to anyone prepared to read it with an open mind. like this story a lot because the author wasn´t afraid of killing very important characters in a battle or unexpectedly so the reader is never going to expect what happens next. My book is called "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan. This book is about a twelve year old boy that founds out he is a demigod son of Poseidon. He has to go to a quest to retrieve Zeus´s master bolt, which people think Percy has stolen for his dad. The protagonist is Percy Jackson and the three main antagonists are Kronos, Hades, and Zeus. Kronos works through people so he is an indirect antagonist. The setting of this book is very inconsistent because they have to travel by ground and not air (Zeus´s domain) and in  almost every place they stop there is a monster to attach them. The main conflict is that Percy has to retrieve the bolt he believes Hades has while Hades thinks he has his helmet, which was also stolen. Zeus and Hades are trying to stop Percy while he stops a possible war between gods and saves his mom, whom was captured by Hades.

I loved this story mainly for two reasons: The monsters and Percy´s personality.I loved the monsters because of the funny ironic ways to fit in society and the connections the author makes to certain popular places or people also with the monsters. I loved Percy´s personality because of the way he dealt with his trouble and his reactions almost every time he finds out about something supernatural. However the story´s plot is enough to hook you up into this series. I would really recommend this book to young people because they can understand and make connections of Percy´s reactions and today´s society. If you liked Harry Potter this is definitely your book.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain was my summer reading book. This book is about a boy who is very adventurous and this book is about the many adventures he had, how he saved an innocent convicted murderer and told the police the name of the true killer, how he found a treasure and escaped a sure death from a cave with the girl he loved. The protagonist is evidently Tom Sawyer and the antagonist would be the killer called Injun Joe. The setting is the town and the school, also the Jackson Island where they run off to be pirates. The story has many conflicts, but the main one would be the doctor´s murder and Injun Joe escaping.

I liked the story because it is very realistic and also it gives us a small "window" to see how the society was like in this year. I like the way the author expresses the childish features of the boys and their childish actions that change later as they notice some "magic tricks" they do aren´t really magical. I would recommend this book to curious people who want to learn about different times and different cultures, also to mostly teenagers who want to read realistic adventure mostly this is the perfect book because it is realistic and adventurous at the same time which is a strange combination to have in a book. Very well written.
